Your privacy is important to us. In this Privacy Policy, Linked Musicians (referred to as "LM") would like to inform you about how LM treats your Personal Data. This Privacy Policy supplements the LM ‘Terms & Conditions’ as published by LM on the website.

Personal Data Protection Principles
LM adheres to the following principles in the protection of your Personal Data:

LM shall collect, process and use your Personal Data in accordance with the applicable privacy laws.
LM does not pass your Personal Data on to any third party, neither for advertising, marketing, nor for any other purposes, without your approval.
With the exception of some general information about you, you have control over what Personal Data you enter, and who has access to your Personal Data. LM applies standard Privacy and Preferences settings when you register. You are responsible to change these Privacy and Preferences settings to satisfy your Personal Data protection needs. You shall not post Content in fields that aren’t intended for that Content. You shall not use the LM Products and Services, and you are personally responsible to immediately block your LM account, if the LM Personal Data protection does not satisfy your needs.
You always have the possibility to block your account, so you and your Personal Data are invisible for users of the LM website.

The TRUSTe security guidelines have been used where appropriate for and achievable by LM for taking care of your Personal Data. Please refer to www.truste.org to find more information about these guidelines.

Privacy Policy Changes
Notice of all changes that materially affect ways in which your Personal Data may be used or shared will be posted in updates to our Privacy Policy. If you continue to use the LM Products and Services after notice of changes have been sent to you or published on our site, you hereby provide your consent to the changed practices.

About Linked Musicians
LM’s Products and Services allow you to set up unique personal and band profiles that can be linked to other people, creating a virtual people network. LM members can view each others' profiles, communicate with their contacts and meet new people through the Product and Services, share photos, post journals and comments, and describe their interests. To enrich our members' experience, we request and display some personal information to other members and visitors, which allows our users to identify each other and expand their people network. LM members can change their profile information at any time and can control their Personal Data protection by changing their individual Privacy and Preferences settings.

Information Collection and Use by Linked Musicians
LM collects user submitted information such as name, email address, country, state/province, city/town and date of birth to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to the LM Products and Services. LM also collects other profile data including but not limited to: personal interests, gender, experience, address, zip code, telephone area code and company information in order to assist users in finding and communicating with each other.

LM also logs non-personally-identifiable information including IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, and browser type, from users and visitors to the site. This data is used to manage the website, track usage and improve the website Products and Services. This non-personally-identifiable information may be shared with third-parties to provide more relevant Products and Services and advertisements to members. User IP addresses are recorded for security and monitoring purposes.

User profile information including members' pictures and names are displayed to people in order to facilitate user interaction in the LM social networking community. Email addresses are used for the purposes of inviting new people and bands to join LM, to add users to members' contacts, to send notifications related to the Products and Services, and to send advertisements. With the exception of inviting people, adding contacts, and notifications, a user's email address is only shared or displayed to members’ direct contacts and members of bands of which they are a band member. Members can change their Privacy and Preferences settings to prevent their contacts or fellow band members to see their email address. Users communicate on LM with each other through the LM Products and Services, without disclosing their email addresses. Users' full names are directly revealed to other members, this can however be changed in the Privacy and Preferences settings. To facilitate searching and finding friends and acquaintances on the Products and Services, LM allows users to search for other members using first, middle and last name, email address, country, state/province, city/town, address, zip code, telephone area code, companies where users may have attended or worked, and on keywords that may be entered in any field in the user profile information. A member's contact details, including email address, street name & number, postal / ZIP code, telephone number, mobile telephone number, and Skype name are only shared or displayed to members’ direct contacts and members of bands of which they are a band member. Members can change their Privacy and Preferences settings to prevent their contacts or fellow band members to see their contact details.

We may also use a user's email address to send updates, a newsletter or news regarding the LM Products and Services.

From time to time, LM or a partner, may sponsor a promotion, sweepstake or contest on LM. Users may be asked to provide personal information including name, email address or home address or to answer questions in order to participate. We may transfer personal information to certain ad partners that you have explicitly requested to receive information from. It will be clear at the point of collection who is collecting the personal information and whose privacy statement will apply.

Company Data
Users may enter Company Data like company name, company logo, company contacts details, a description of products and services. The user, and not LM, is entirely responsible for all Content including Company Data that the user uploads, posts, emails or otherwise transmits via the Products and Services. LM does not control user or third party Content posted via the Products and Services, and, as such, does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such user or third party Content. You can use our spam/abuse reporting facility to let us know of Content that you find objectionable. We may investigate the complaints and violations of our policies that come to our attention and may take any action that we believe is appropriate, including, but not limited to issuing warnings, removing the Content or terminating accounts and/or subscriptions. However, because situations and interpretations vary, we also reserve the right not to take any action. Under no circumstances will LM be liable in any way for any user or third party Content, including, but not limited to, for any errors or omissions in any such Content, or for any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of any such Content posted, emailed or otherwise transmitted via the Products and Services. LM does not, as a general practice, pre-screen user or third party Content posted on the Products and Services, although LM reserves the right to do so.

Invitations and Other Communications to Non-members
LM members can invite their contacts to register as an LM member by sending invitation emails via our Products and Services. LM stores the email addresses that members provide so that the respondents may be added to the contacts list of the member sending the invitations, and also to send reminders of the invitations and emails promoting LM. LM does not sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations, invitation reminders and LM promotion.

Use of Cookies
LM uses cookies to store visitors' preferences and to record session information, for purposes including ensuring that visitors are not repeatedly offered the same advertisements and to customize newsletter, advertising, and Web page content based on browser type and user profile information. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies, or notify you when a cookie is set -- each browser is different, so check the "Help" menu of your browser to learn how to change your cookie preferences -- however, you must enable cookies from LM in order to use most functions on the site. LM contains links to sites. LM is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site a user should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on LM.

Chat Rooms, Journals and WebLogs, Message Boards, Classifieds and Public Forums.
Please be aware that whenever you voluntarily post public information to Journals, WebLogs, Message Boards, Classifieds or any other Public Forums that that information can be accessed by the public and can in turn be used by those people to send you unsolicited communications.

Third Party Advertising
Ads appearing on the LM Web site may be delivered to users by LM or one of our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer each time they send you an online advertisement. In this way, ad servers may compile information about where you, or others who are using your computer, saw their advertisements and determine which ads are clicked on. This information allows an ad network to deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This privacy statement covers the use of cookies by LM and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

Security
LM member accounts are secured by passwords. LM takes precautions to insure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of member information at any time.

Sharing and Disclosure of Information LM Collects
Except as otherwise described in this privacy statement, LM will not disclose personal information without your approval to any third party unless we believe that disclosure is necessary: (1) to conform to legal requirements or to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other legal process received by LM, whether or not a response is required by applicable law; (2) to enforce the LM Terms & Conditions or to protect our rights; or (3) to protect the safety of members of the public and users of the Products and Services. LM reserves the right to transfer personal information to a successor in interest that acquires rights to that information as a result of the sale of LM or substantially all of its assets to that successor in interest.
